Book Description:

An Ordinary Toad's Extraordinary Night is the story of a young toad named Andrew, pondering whether his life would be more interesting had he been hatched a frog.

Andrew embarks on his first solo hop to ask his grandpa some questions about what it means to be an amphibian. The story is blended with factual information that compares and contrasts the similarities and differences among toads and frogs.

A young reader's curiosity will be piqued as they consider the unique attributes of the individual creatures that make up a species, perhaps sparking the light of conversation in their hearts and minds.

Review:

Joanne McGongle pens "An Ordinary Toad's Extraordinary Night", a delightful tale about an ordinary toad named Andrew who visits his grandfather wanting to know why he wasn't born a bull frog. The author's lessons about bullying and appreciating who you are, is one of the better explanations I've seen for young children. My nephew is going to love this book when I see him in September, my neighbors kids thought Andrew was the best ordinary toad they've ever seen! I need to mention that the illustrations done by Rachael Mahaffey are fantastic and very well done to the point I was totally impressed and that's not easy to do with illustrations. I highly recommend this book to all children and parents alike.

I give "An Ordinary Toad's Extraordinary Night" a 5 star rating.
